I am truly at awe of the Life of Mahatma Gandhi, his non-violent actions that moved an entire country from bondage to freedom. The following are powerful words that I take into my spirit and practice daily.
“No effort is complete without prayer – without definite recognition that the best human endeavor is of no effect if it has NOT God’s blessing behind it.”
It is quite easy for the ego to retaliate when a wrong has occurred. It is quite easy to allow the flesh to feel and give hatred back to another in these instances, but more powerful, effective and life giving is to LOVE while experiencing hatred and evil behaviors. To love thy enemy as Christ encouraged is more commendable. This truly takes an evolved mind, body and soul. Not all are called to be a Gandhi, but all are called to love. In my morning devotion the following reading also captures my heart to be the change I desire to see in the world.
“One must alleviate the consciousness of justice and love by knowing how to separate the image in the Soul of a person from the evil in his ego expression. One learns to recognize God in those who love Him and also in those who hate him. To see God equally in friend and enemy is a testimony of one’s spiritual realization.” The Second Coming Of Christ!
And So It Is! Ashai! Amin! Amen!
