Beloved,
One of the hardest things to conquer is that within us. We can conquer many things but that one member of our body can conquer us if we possess a lack of control; that member is none other than our tongue. With it we bless and curse, speak things into existence both good and bad. However we do not realize that the things we have spoken into the Universe good or bad we have actually spoken them unto ourselves. Many many years ago to my heart was spoken these words; “bridle thy tongue”. It wasn’t until I understood the power of the tongue that I was able to make the change to control it, learning the process of managing the change and now continually mastering the change by controlling what comes from it, which surely brings unto one’s self Life instead of death. Blessing others instead of cursing, encouraging others instead of discouraging, complimenting instead of speaking ill of another brings life not only to the other person but also unto the speaker. When Jesus the Christ said judge not lest ye be judged with that same measure, is yet another lesson on controlling the tongue. We speak what our hearts harbor. Today let us take time to tend to our hearts! Is there a need for a minor tuneup as we all need periodically or a major heart surgery? Only you and God knows you!
According to the Words of Jesus the Christ we are reminded that it is not what goes into the mouth that makes a man unclean, rather it is what comes out of the mouth that makes man unclean. Why? Because what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart. Whatever we harbor, carry, dwell in the heart dictates whether we are speaking life or death, which dictates our character.
Namaste,
