As I meditated last night I immediately thought of the many people who have said to me God has not answered my prayer or I have waited for years for my prayers to be answered and I just gave up. Immediately after that thought I was reminded of what was written about Jesus, when he went into the temple of where he grew up, opened the scroll and began to read from the Prophet Isaiah. It wasn’t his reading that disturbed the people but what he said immediately after. Yet these people had prayed their whole lives as with generations before them for Messiah, for freedom, for deliverance. I personally believe all prayers are answered. I believe whatever we put out into the the Universe it is heard by God and answered; perhaps when we pray, it could be that we missed the answer because we were looking for it, in a different package. Today may our eyes be opened to see, ears open to hear and souls opened to receive.
(Luke 4:18-21 TIB)-The Spirit of our God is upon me: because the Most High has anointed me to bring Good News to those who are poor. God has sent me to proclaim liberty to those held captive, recovery of sight to those who are blind, and release to those in prison – to proclaim the year of our God’s favor. Rolling up the scroll, Jesus gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. Then he said to them, “Today, in your hearing, this scripture passage is fulfilled.”
