Mercy is God in action for all of Humanity. This next verse of the Beatitudes can really hit home for anyone who have ever received mercy, knowing they did not deserve it. I believe that is all of humanity but to know it brings about total transformation.
(Matthew 5:7 NKJV)-“Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.”
In Discourse 26 it is said that “The wise alone can be really merciful (God-like); with divine insight they perceive wrongdoers as souls. To give mercy requires a total change of heart. When the Pharisee and tax collector stood before the Lord in prayer, one prayed about himself while the other simply humbled and asked for mercy, realizing his state of being. He simply cried out for H.E.L.P. (Hello Ever Loving Presence) I need you right now!!! We are told only one went away justified. Let us always seek to be merciful to others as Spirit has truly been merciful to us.
(Luke 18:10-14 NKJV)-““Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.””
